Course type: Webinar

“Ethical training” gets used a lot in our field. But ethics isn’t a label – it’s a decision process. This webinar breaks down what ethical practice actually looks like in applied behaviour work: how to use the Humane Hierarchy as a genuine thinking tool, why functional behaviour assessment is an ethical skill as well as an applied one, and how to make decisions you can justify when the case is messy and the right answer isn’t obvious.

Through this webinar, you’ll learn about:

    • What ethical practice actually requires
    • How to use the Humane Hierarchy as a genuine decision-making tool
    • How to identify, justify, and defend the least intrusive option in a real case
    • How to predict impacts on behaviour and welfare
    • How competence and ethical risk are connected
    • The purpose of a functional behaviour assessment
    • Considerations for behaviour plans

To receive a certificate of completion, students must:

  • Watch the lecture in its entirety
  • Successfully complete a 4-question quiz

This is a self-study webinar that will begin upon payment. Students will have access to the course for 1 year from the date of your most recent IAABC Foundation purchase.
